Muse Connector Terms
Effective September 18, 2026
These Muse Connector Terms (“Terms”) govern your development, submission, listing, and operation of connectors, actions, plug-ins, MCP servers, or other integrations (each, a “Connector”) that communicate or interoperate with Muse, Meta’s AI agent service (such agent service, as may be updated or renamed from time to time, “Muse”), through a Connector Interface. By submitting or operating a Connector or clicking to accept these Terms, you (“Developer” or “you”) agree to these Terms and the Muse Connector Policies, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference (the “Muse Connector Policies”). References to these Terms include the Muse Connector Policies.

-
Submission; Approval and No Exclusivity
-
Submission and Approval. You must submit your Connector and any information reasonably requested by Meta for review before making the Connector available through Muse. You agree that any information you provide to us in connection with your submission must be true and accurate, and you agree to not misrepresent or obscure your Connector’s functionality or compliance with these Terms as part of any such submission. Meta may review, test, approve, reject, or require changes to any submitted Connector in its sole discretion, or require that your Connector be subject to additional review and monitoring terms as a condition to approval and as set out in Section 5 below. Meta’s approval does not waive your obligation to comply with these Terms, and Meta may re-review any Connector at any time.
-
No Exclusivity. Nothing in these Terms grants you any exclusive right and Meta may integrate with other applications or services that may compete with yours. Meta may decline, suspend, disable, or remove any Connector at any time for any reason, including policy violations, security risk, or legal risk.
-
-
Licenses
-
License You Grant Meta. You grant Meta and its Affiliates a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license during the Term (plus a reasonable wind-down) to:
(a) install, access, receive, test, process, reproduce, transmit, display, make available, modify, and distribute your Connector and Connector Content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, support, improve, integrate, and make your Connector and Connector Content available in connection with Muse;
(b) use your name, marks, and branding to identify and promote the availability of the Connector with Muse; provided that Meta will use commercially reasonable efforts to comply with your publicly available brand guidelines, if applicable; and
(c) use Connector Content and information about Users’ interactions with the Connector or a Connector Interface (including queries, tool invocations, and outputs) to personalize User experiences and to operate, secure, support, and improve Muse or its integration with the Connector.
-
License Meta Grants You. Meta grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license during the term (plus a reasonable wind-down) to develop, test, and operate your Connector solely to communicate and interoperate with Muse in compliance with these Terms. This license includes the right to access and use any Connector Interface and related documentation made available by Meta for that purpose. No other rights are granted, and Meta reserves all rights not expressly granted under these Terms. You acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for the acts and omissions of your service providers, including their compliance with these Terms.
-
Restrictions. You will not, and will not permit any third party to: (a) reverse engineer Muse or any Meta-provided Connector Interface except as applicable law permits; (b) sell, rent, or redistribute any Meta-provided Connector Interface or access credentials standing alone; (c) remove proprietary notices; (d) misrepresent affiliation with or endorsement by Meta; or (e) circumvent rate limits, access controls, review, safety systems or similar controls related to Muse.
-
-
Developer Obligations
-
Functionality and Accuracy. Your Connector must perform as described in your submission materials and user documentation, including commercially reasonable measures to ensure it generates accurate and up-to-date Connector Content, and comply with its documentation. You will promptly fix material defects, broken endpoints, and stale data, and maintain commercially reasonable uptime and support contact information.
-
Rights and Permissions. You represent that you have all rights necessary for your Connector, Connector Content, and Developer-provided Connector Interfaces to be made available to and through Muse and Users, and that Meta's exercise of the rights granted under these Terms will not violate any third-party rights, terms, or privacy commitments.
-
Privacy and Data Handling.
(a) You will process User Data (including Personal Data) only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve the operation of your Connector and its interoperability with Muse through a Connector Interface in connection with a User's request via your Connector, only within the scopes and permissions authorized by the User and permitted by applicable law.
(b) You will implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, promptly notify Meta within forty-eight (48) hours of any security incident involving User Data, and reasonably cooperate with investigations.
(c) You will maintain a publicly accessible notice that complies with all applicable transparency requirements under applicable privacy laws in relation to the processing of Personal Data in connection with these Terms.
(d) You and Meta are each acting as an independent controller of User Data (including Personal Data) that you process in connection with these Terms. You and Meta will each comply with the data protection obligations applicable to you under the Data Protection Requirements (available at https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/Privacy or a successor location) (the “DPA”) which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
(e) You may disclose User Data to another recipient only where necessary to fulfill the User's request. No recipient may receive broader access, purpose, or retention rights than you hold.
(f) You will retain User Data only as long as necessary to fulfill the User's request, and will delete or render inaccessible User Data on the earlier of the User's revocation of access or deletion request or when the data is no longer necessary for the User's request
(g) You will maintain records sufficient to demonstrate compliance with these Terms and your processing of User Data, and will provide such records to Meta upon reasonable request.
-
Prohibited Practices. You and your Connector must comply with the Muse Connector Policies. Meta (or a third party acting on its behalf) may audit your compliance with these Terms no more than once per calendar year, unless there is a material suspected violation. You will cooperate with audits, including by providing reasonable access to your systems and records, and responding to reasonable information requests.
-
Additional Requirements. Meta may require, as a condition to continued access of any Connector to Muse, that you agree to additional terms, certifications, assessments, or compliance measures that Meta determines are necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws or regulations, or to address risks to Users or User Data arising from the nature or functionality of the Connector you make available. Meta will provide reasonable notice of any such additional requirements.
-
-
Intellectual Property; Feedback
-
Ownership. As between the parties, you retain your intellectual property rights in the Connector, Connector Content, and the Developer provided Connector Interfaces; Meta retains its intellectual property rights in Muse and the Meta-provided Connector Interfaces. Nothing in these Terms assigns ownership rights to the other.
-
Feedback. If either party provides the other with suggestions, ideas, or other feedback regarding the other party's products or services ("Feedback"), the receiving party may use such Feedback without restriction or obligation of any kind. Feedback is provided "as is" and nothing in this Section grants either party any license under the other party's patents or copyright rights.
-
-
Term and Termination
-
Term and Termination. These Terms apply from acceptance until terminated (the “Term”). Either party may terminate at any time on 30 days' notice; Meta may suspend or terminate these Terms immediately for actual or reasonably suspected violations of these Terms or the Muse Connector Policies, to comply with applicable laws or regulations, to protect others from liability or harm, or for security reasons.
-
Effect of Termination. On termination: (a) you will stop using the Connector Interface for that Connector; and (b) Meta will stop making the Connector available through the Connector Interface, in each case within a reasonable wind-down. Any retained interaction records or User Data remain subject to the applicable data-handling restrictions in Section 4.3.
-
Survival. The following provisions survive expiration or termination of these Terms: (a) Sections 3.1 and 3.2, solely to the extent necessary for an authorized wind-down; (b) Sections 3.3, 4.3, 5, 6, 7.2, 8, 9, and 10; (c) any applicable duties under Section 4.3 with respect to retained User Data; and (d) any other provisions that by their nature should survive expiration or termination.
-
-
Representations and Warranties; Disclaimer
-
Representations and Warranties. Each party represents and warrants that it has the authority to enter into these Terms and grant the rights it grants under these Terms, and that its performance will not conflict with or breach any agreement binding on it.
-
Disclaimer. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THESE TERMS, MUSE (INCLUDING OUTPUTS THEREFROM) AND ANY CONNECTOR INTERFACES, DOCUMENTATION, OR CONTENT PROVIDED BY META ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” META DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND DOES NOT WARRANT THAT MUSE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AI SYSTEMS ARE NON-DETERMINISTIC AND THAT INCIDENTAL DEVIATIONS MAY OCCUR. META WILL USE COMMERCIALLY REASONABLE EFFORTS TO DISPLAY CONNECTOR CONTENT ACCURATELY, CONVEY CONNECTOR CONTENT AS RECEIVED THROUGH THE CONNECTOR, AND PREVENT AND REMEDIATE SUCH DEVIATIONS AFTER NOTICE. INCIDENTAL DEVIATIONS WILL NOT CONSTITUTE A BREACH OF THESE TERMS.
-
-
Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Meta, its Affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from third-party claims (and resulting losses, including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your Connector or Connector Content (including intellectual property infringement and privacy violations); and (b) your breach of these Terms or applicable law. Meta will promptly notify you of a claim and reasonably cooperate at its expense. You may not settle a claim without Meta’s prior written consent if the settlement admits fault by, imposes non-monetary obligations on, or fails to unconditionally release Meta or another indemnified party.
- Limitation of Liability
EXCEPT FOR YOUR INDEMNITY OBLIGATIONS, BREACHES OF SECTIONS 4.3 OR 4.4, OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT/FRAUD, META WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. META’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000 USD).
-
General
-
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms, whether by operation of law or otherwise, without Meta’s prior written consent. Meta may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, to an Affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction upon notice to you. Any purported assignment or transfer in violation of this Section is void.
-
Governing Law; Venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state courts located in San Mateo County, California, or the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
-
Notices. Notices to Meta under these Terms must be sent to Legal-Notices@meta.com, with a copy addressed to Meta Legal at 1 Meta Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, US. Meta may provide notices to you through the contact information associated with your developer account, or by other reasonable means.
-
Updates to Terms. Meta may modify these Terms or any policy at any time in its discretion. Meta will provide notice of material changes through email, or by posting on this site. Unless a change is required sooner for legal, regulatory, security, safety, or technical reasons, Meta will provide at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice of any change that materially and adversely affects your rights or obligations. Your continued access to or use of any Connector Interface or operation of your Connector after the effective date of the modified terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to a change, you must stop using the applicable Connector Interface and discontinue operation of your Connector before the change takes effect.
-
Entire Agreement; Order of Precedence; Severability; Waiver. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding Connectors and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and understandings regarding that subject matter. If these Terms and any policies conflict, the policies will control unless the applicable policy expressly states otherwise. Any clickwrap, shrinkwrap, online, or other terms accompanying or relating to your Connector that impose obligations on Meta or Users beyond these Terms are void unless Meta expressly agrees in a separate written agreement. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Any waiver must be in a writing signed by the waiving party and will apply only to the specific instance for which it is given.
-
Independent Contractors; No Third-Party Beneficiaries. The parties are independent contractors. These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, fiduciary, customer or franchise relationship between the parties, and neither party has authority to bind the other. These Terms are for the sole benefit of the parties and do not confer any rights or remedies on any third party.
-

Muse Connector Policies
Your use of Muse and connecting to it through Connector Interfaces, including any content sent to or received from it, must comply with the (i) Terms and (ii) all applicable laws and regulations. You also agree that you will not do any of the following:
-
Prohibited Practices. You must not engage in any of the following conduct:
- Deceive users: including through misleading functionality, deceptive permission flows, or inauthentic experiences.
- Compromise security: including by facilitating or distributing malware, probing for vulnerabilities (outside authorized Meta programs), or interfering with Meta's products.
- Exceed declared scope: including by performing undisclosed functions, accessing undeclared endpoints, or acting beyond user authorization. Non-deterministic skill(s) must define a bounded action range.
- Extract or reconstruct data: including by scraping content, building exfiltration or prompt-injection vectors, or compiling chat histories from indirect signals.
- Circumvent restrictions or access controls: including by using proxies to evade review, creating multiple developer accounts, evading enforcement or usage limits, auto-solving CAPTCHAs, violating robots.txt.
- Infer or act on sensitive attributes: including by using indirect signals to determine or act upon a user's or third party's health status, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation, race, ethnicity, or other protected characteristics—unless the attribute was explicitly stated by the data subject or expressly provided by the User.
- Identify individuals via biometric data without authorization: including by using facial geometry, voice prints, gait patterns, or other human characteristics data to determine a person's identity—unless the User has expressly enabled this functionality.
- Execute high-consequence actions without explicit user authorization: including by controlling physical systems where actions could have dangerous consequences (e.g., locks, security systems, vehicles, heating appliances), performing financial transactions above material thresholds, or irreversibly deleting user data—without the User having directly and unambiguously authorized the specific action.
- Fail to disclose material terms before financial commitment: including by enrolling in recurring charges, converting trials to paid plans, or finalizing non-refundable transactions without clear notice of cost, frequency, cancellation terms, and penalties.
- Act autonomously on professional determinations: including by making and executing medical, legal, or financial decisions without user review and approval.
-
Prohibited Content. You must not use, nor facilitate others to use, Connector Interfaces for any of the following purposes. These prohibitions apply regardless of whether content is generated, curated, or distributed by you or by any third party through your Connector.
- Facilitate illegal activity: including violence/terrorism, child exploitation, human trafficking, sexual violence, distribution to minors, sexual solicitation, or other criminal conduct.
- Generate or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery: including AI-generated sexual depictions of real individuals, synthetic intimate media produced without subject consent, or any sexualized content depicting minors—whether real, AI-generated, or composite.
- Harass or abuse: including threatening, bullying, or targeting individuals or groups—whether through generated content, the use or disclosure of Muse Connectors Data to identify, profile, stalk, dox, or intimidate individuals, or by enabling others to do so.
- Discriminate unlawfully: including in employment, credit, housing, or other essential goods and services.
- Practice regulated professions without authorization: including financial, legal, or medical/health advice.
- Enable harm or dangerous activity: including military/warfare/espionage, ITAR-controlled activities, development or acquisition of illegal weapons or drugs, critical infrastructure interference, transport/heavy machinery misuse, or self-harm content.
- Deceive or mislead: including through fraud, disinformation, defamation, spam, impersonation, misrepresenting AI outputs as human-generated, or facilitating false engagement (e.g., fake reviews).
- Enable real-money gambling: including content that promotes redeeming or cashing out virtual goods for real-world monetary value.
- Interact with unlawful tools or models: including third-party software designed to generate unlawful content, or representing such outputs as associated with Meta.
